I love this place! The food is amazing, with some of the best pastries and breads you can find anywhere. The croissants are easily the best in town by far. The atmosphere is relaxed, but warm and inviting. There is plenty of seating and an open and spacious floor plan, with both indoor and outdoor seating. I like sitting in the warmer side where the brick oven is in winter. In warmer weather, one can opt for the abundant outdoor seating. The service is good, demonstrating the values of a family owned business, with an abundance of care given to details. To top of the fantastic food, this place is a haven for coffee-snobs! I mean this as a compliment... You will have an option of single-origin or a blend coffee, both of which get changed from time to time.
Came here for pizza with the girlfriends family it was really good and in the cozy resteraunt we had a great time!
While in PE the last time, we discovered Banneton. And we went back again and again. Fabulous coffee, amazing food. We went for breakfast and lunch and in between. The staff is superb. All in all a restaurant highly recommended. We wish we could have stayed longer and eaten there even more often than we did. Do yourself a favour and try out Banneton - can't say enough about them. Staff: AMAZING! Food: AMAZING! Coffee AND Tea: AMAZING!
We order the pizzas, which had a lovely crispy base. generous topping and full of flavour. We had the donuts which we really the highlights. Salted Caramel if my favourite. Service was friendly and very helpful.
This is the 3rd time I've visited this family run bakery/cafe, and it's now my only stop when I visit Port Elizabeth. The food is fresh, home-made on the premises with delicious artisan breads, pastries, pizza bases etc.....and then there's the restaurant...home made wholesome breakfasts, daily specials for lunch, great winter soups and today I discovered that they are open 3 nights a week for dinner. Coffee is delicious, freshly squeezed juices, with a lovely vibe. I'd definitely recommend this gem.
We had a delicious, relaxed breakfast. The eggs benedict and omelettes were excellent very tasty and fresh ingredients were used. The ambiance of the bakery is very comfortable and inviting. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The chocolate rye cookies were amazing! Highly recommended.
